London Fiddle Convention Winner Announced
Hobgoblin is proud to sponsor this event

With this being awards season, it seems only right that we delve further into the envelope and reveal some more exciting results. It's time to reveal the winner of the senior contest in the 2016 London Fiddle Convention.

The London Fiddle Convention has been running now for over 20 years and Hobgoblin Music has been a proud sponsor for the last few.

It's the most important date in every London fiddler's calendar; showcasing a huge range of fiddle styles, with a chance to meet friends, learn new tunes, see some amazing playing, buy some fiddle stuff. People come from all over the South East to be there.

The 24th annual London Fiddle Convention was held at Cecil Sharp House, one of London's premier folk venues; on Sunday Feb 14th.

The winner of this year's senior contest was the excellent Jaya Hanley, accompanied on cello by Sarah James. They played interesting and modern arrangements of Irish fiddle tunes. As a duo they are known as An Dha.

The evening concert was finished off in fine style by Scottish fiddler Essa Flett, who was the winner of last year's senior contest.

The London Fiddle Convention is proud, with the help and sponsorship of Hobgoblin, to be able to give encouragement and opportunity in this way to the younger fiddle players of London and beyond.

Could it be you next year?
