Excelsior has been making accordions and melodeons in Italy for a very long time but quite recently Pigini, one of the most highly rated Italian accordion makers, bought the Excelsior company, and has produced a superb new range of professional quality melodeons.
The Mini is a great compact single reeded melodeon, ideal for Morris. With only one set of reeds, the sound is very much like a concertina and the clarity of the single voice causes the sound to cut through, making it a perfect melodeon to play out doors.
