WEE BONNIE
Perfect for either a child or a fully grownup child at heart. The Wee Bonnie is a great sounding nylon-strung real wood lap harp, that is never the less small in size. The more than two octave range allows you to play most simple tunes.
EVE
The Eve Harp is the most popular model. It is a 22-string lap or knee harp, tuned from G to G. The lowest C is middle C on a piano. Because of its small size, this harp can be taken almost everywhere (even in the overhead compartment of an airplane), yet it is capable of expressive music. The limitation of the three octave range is made up for by the portability of this sweet lightweight harp. This harp is 30 inches high, 17 inches deep, and 10 inches wide and weighs 7 pounds.

  • ANNE
The 26 string Anne is designed to fill a growing demand for a harp between the 22 string and 29 string models. It has a Celtic shape and a range from C below middle C to the 2nd G above it. It is 35 " high and weighs 12 pounds. It has a great sound because of the larger box and low mass soundboard.

  • LORRAINE
While the lap harp is more portable, it is actually easier for a beginner to play the larger 4-octave Lorraine Harp. It has 7 more low strings (a full octave) and stands on its 4 attractive removeable turned legs. The additional range in the base gives you those rich low notes. This harp is 48 inches high (56 inches with the legs), 23 inches deep, 13 inches wide, and weighs 15 pounds.

    More about Stoney End Harps

Stoney End harps are made in the USA. They are all strikingly good looking and have a really lively and bright response, which is maintained all the way to the top end. Stoney End make lap harps and floor harps in a variety of styles. All of the Stoney End harps that are imported into the UK (apart from the Wee Bonnie model) are fully levered with American made Loveland levers, but the harps can be ordered to any specification.

On the larger Stoney End harps, the strings are spaced as on a full sized concert harp. The lap harps have slightly closer spacing. Solid Walnut or Cherry wood is used for the structural frame and pinblock. The plywood side and back panels are inserted into dado cuts in the solid corners and the base. This makes a durable and strong, yet very lightweight harp body.

The unusual soundboard is at the heart of the Stoney End sound. A Baltic Birch laminate is used, which provides exceptional strength with low weight and makes it possible to have cutouts on both the bottom and top ends of the string band. This opens up the soundboard and makes it free to vibrate over its entire surface, something that thicker, stiffer, more confined soundboards cannot do.

Stoney End harps are often praised for offering the best combination of a great sound and affordable price. They are very reliably made, and always look and sound fantastic. The workshop where the harps are built is based in a huge barn in Red Wing, Minnesota, which also acts as a showroom and shop. Visitors to the workshop and showroom are invited to watch the harp building process through viewing windows.

We stock the most popular Stoney End models (the Eve, Anne, Lorraine and Wee Bonnie), and all Stoneyend harps and harp kits are available to order.
